There’s always a sudden surge of organisational drive once the summer holidays are over. In an attempt to harness this (it usually lasts between 6-12 hours), I list here not one, not two, but THREE forthcoming events in which I shall be participating. First up is the Rye Arts Festival. If you’ve never been to Rye, it’s one of Britain’s most beautiful seaside towns, and its literary heritage is rich, with both Henry James and EF Benson having called it home. I’m giving a talk there on 29 Sept at 3pm called MURDER IN A SEASIDE TOWN. The venue is the infamous smugglers’ tavern, The Mermaid Inn. Shiver me timbers. Then comes none other than the Gibraltar Literary Festival. Come and see Spike in his birthplace! The title of the talk is GIBRALTAR: A CRIMEWRITER’S PARADISE. Having attended the festival before, I know that the whole four days will be a blast — I’m on at 4pm on 22nd October. Last, I’ll be taking part in a panel discussion with the formidable Daniel Pembrey, SJI Holliday, Amanda Jennings and Sarah Ward at Waterstone’s King’s Road. The date is 1st November, the time 630pm, and the proximity to Halloween means we will all be dressing up in bloodthirsty costume (genuinely). Links below!
