Dagger Shortlisting for ‘Shadow’…

For some reason the bizarre X-Factor phrase, ‘Congratulations — you’re through to the ‘lives”, has been buzzing round my head today with the news that ‘Shadow of the Rock’ has made it to the last four for the Crime Writers’ Association’s 2013 John Creasey Dagger Award. The prospect of sitting at a round table at the Grosvenor while waiting for a name to be read out is now a reality. As is the sudden interest of both my sister and aunt after they heard that Idris Elba is also up for an award… Fellow debut crime writers Hanna Jameson, Malcolm Mackay and Derek B Miller complete the shortlist, so the competition is formidable, but still… a surreal and excellent day.
